Cancellation Policy: If cancellation occurs by 6 p.m. the day before the arrival date, a 90% refund is granted. The other 10% is not kept by the hotel but goes to credit card and online reservation processing fees. If cancellation occurs after this point, no refund is granted and 100% of the amount of a one-night stay is charged.
Deposit Policy: We require 100% of the total amount due as a deposit.
No-Show Policy: No-shows will be charged 90% of the amount of a one-night stay.
Pet Policy: No pets allowed. Any tenants who bring a pet will be charged a $50 cleaning fee.
Smoking Policy: Smoking is restricted to certain room types. Smoking in a non-smoking room will result in a $50 cleaning fee.
Taxes: Applicable taxes subject to change without notice.
Privacy Policies:
The Whispering Sands Motel takes every precaution to protect our guests' information. When guests submit sensitive information via the Whispering Sands Motel website, the information is protected both on-line and off-line. When our registration/order form asks a guest to enter sensitive information, such as a credit card number, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry – SSL. Our servers encrypt all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address so it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. While on our secure-page reservation order form, the yellow lock icon on web browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just 'surfing.' The locked icon always tells a user they are on a secure page. You will also know your connection becomes secure during the checkout process by seeing the "S" for "secure" in HTTPS://... in your browser's address block.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information on-line, we also do everything in our power to protect our guests' information off-line. All of our guests' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a reservation specialist) are granted access to personally identifiable information. ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time we add new policies, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our guests' information is protected. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50 of fraudulent charges.
